Boonton UMC’s Confirmation program provides youth with a year-long opportunity to learn about themselves, engage their Christian and biblical heritage, participate in worship and service to others, and discover new friendships with their peers and adults in the church.

Led by Pastor Donald in conjunction with other Methodist clergy and congregation leaders, Confirmation takes place every other year. Please email Pastor Donald at for more information if interested in having your child be a part of a vibrant and meaningful start to their journey of faith.

Our Confirmation class will be for students going into 6th grade through 11th grade. Our class will meet the first and third Sunday of every month for 6 months between October and April. We will gather from 4-6pm on those Sundays, rotating between the various churches. Every first Sunday will be more educational and curriculum-based for confirmation students, while every third Sunday will be more experiential, with talks and opportunities geared toward relevant issues of our day that both the confirmation students and their parents/guardians are encouraged to be a part of.

We will conclude our confirmation class with a special Confirmation Sunday Celebration in May, followed by a special week-long mission camp through Harvest of Hope in the summer. This summer experience will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in which confirmation students will not only have a fun, growing, and transformational time, but will have the opportunity to make a hands-on difference in the midst of a social justice issue affecting every part of our world: hunger.

Whether you and your child are part of our congregation already or are new to the community and haven’t had the chance to get acquainted with our church, we hope you’ll choose to bring your child along on this exciting journey of faith that we are embarking upon as they grow and develop into all God has called and created them to be. And, once again, please don’t hesitate to email Pastor Donald at for more information or if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing your student this fall!
